Activism Row at AfroPunk Fest

Brooklyn NAACP is joining Progressive Pupil on Activism Row during the 2014 AfroPunk Festival on August 23rd and 24th.

Activism Row’s goals are to facilitate voter registration, inform youth about civic participation opportunities, as well as encourage the festival’s multicultural audience to envision themselves making a difference and supporting social innovations. Highlighting social justice as a work of art, Activism Row shows activism lives today in communities of color.

In its 10th year, the AfroPunk music festival draws tens of thousands of diverse youth in person and millions on line. The AfroPunk cultural movement encourages youth to
embrace a DIY (do-it-yourself) approach to leadership and artistic expression. With headliners D’Angelo and Meshell Ndegeocello, this FREE music festival will draw international and national media attention.
