Tywan is a young, athletic and energetic professional that has a solid background in public service economics and community life. He is also a great advocate for equality and community involvement. He has a strong belief in social responsibility & is constantly encouraging people to get involved in the community. His goal through involvement is seeing that the African American community and minorities have the necessary economic tools for success.
Tywan Anthony graduated from Pittsburg State University and holds a Bachelor’s of Arts in Political Science and a minor in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance. While in college, Tywan was a standout football player that was considered for various pro teams. While participating as a member in the student government and the Black Student Union for Pittsburg State, he also rekindled the universities chess club and was president until graduating in 2009. During his college life, he purchased a house in the local community and partnered with school officials to provide affordable housing for incoming underprivileged students. That project was the initial starting point for his home based small business TNEX.
As a believer in community and hard work, Tywan works full time as a police officer for the Parks Department. In addition, he is a member of a semi pro football team in Brooklyn, an active member of the NAACP and also volunteers his time to various campaigns and causes around the New York City area. Prior to becoming a Parks Police Officer, Tywan was a field manager for the Brooklyn based Working Families Party developing canvass teams. In addition, he worked in the “Office of Eric Dinallo for Attorney General” as a finance organizer responsible for configuring financial data from various donors to the campaign. In 2010, he also worked for campaigns involving David Greenfield’s special election in Brooklyn, and David Werpins special election in Queens.
Currently Tywan lives in the Bedford Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn and has a direct interest in seeing his community grow and flourish on all levels; specifically through economic strength. |
