Akua Soadwa is a visionary. She creates movements, moments and monumental shifts within individuals, families and communities.
Akua is the Founder of Let’s Pursue You (a personal growth and development company supporting grown folk with carving out time in their lives to listen to, nurture and honor their spirits); the founder of the Gye Nyame Empowerment Project (a Brooklyn based non profit and home of Brooklyn's annual Sista-2-Sista Youth Summit which creates transformative spaces for high school girls and women of Pan-African descent to be reminded of their greatness); the Assistant camp director for the Lil Raggamuffin Summer Camp (a 6-day creative arts youth camp for youth in the Blue Mountains of Jamaica); and a Dream Director with the Future Project where she supports high school students with identifying their passions and turning them into dreams realized rather than dreams deferred.
Akua is committed to unraveling the beliefs that hinder people from maximizing their full potential through the use of conversation, self-care techniques and action-based processes. As a woman who left her job as one of the youngest Directors of the Community Affairs Unit at the NYS Department of Financial Services because her spirit wasn't fulfilled, Akua knows what it takes to follow ones heart, work hard and "do the work" both outwardly for the people and inwardly for herself.
At the ripe age of 34, Akua is creating a movement of action-oriented and responsible beings that ascribe to her belief that “we are just one conversation and one action away from having everything we want.”
